An impoundment of the Tennessee River, Wheeler Lake runs 60 miles from Guntersville Dam to Wheeler Dam. It is known as an excellent bass fishery and offers Largemouth, Smallmouth and Spotted bass fishing. Crappie fishing can be exceptional, as Wheeler produces some of the fastest growing Crappie in Alabama. Trophy Stripe fishing is also popular.
